历史出国读研详解

人类的发展经历了漫长的一段历程，历史学家就是这段历程的忠实记录者，很多人对于历史研究的印象还停留在枯燥古板的研究上，其实不然，现代历史研究早已经买入了一个更加科学的时代。对历史的研究能让人明辨得失，甚至可以推动时代的进步，真正的历史学家往往像明镜，真实地照射出历史，也坚定地照亮未来。

近年来，英国留学的热门程度在不断飙升，中国有很多学生会选择赴英留学，但是，他们很多人更愿意选择比较火爆的商科专业或者工科专业。文科类专业除了英语专业，很少有学生会选择出国留学，其实历史学是英国大学的传统王牌专业，相比较其他更为实用的商科等专业而言，历史学专业表面看起来显得那么不实用，但是恰恰因为这种曲高和寡，使得历史学在英国有些不食人间烟火，而社会对于那些选择学习历史专业的学生和教授，也多少会高看一些，认为是真正的学者。

英国的历史学专业下设很多分支学科，分的非常详细，就业方面，毕业于大历史专业的学生，既可以选择进入高校担任研究与教学职位，也可以去中学教授历史，同样可以进入博物馆、艺术馆甚至艺术品市场从事商业类工作，所以这个学科的就业前景并非大家所想象的那样无处可依，相反冷门专业的就业率反而远远高于那些大热专业。

下面介绍几所英国的历史专业名校及特色专业。

剑桥大学

这个学校的名气，教育质量，科研水平（尤其是历史专业），地理位置的优越，另人神往的程度等等用再多的语言描述都不为过，所以也就不再多说了。

因为该校的课程多因其科研水平著称，所以历史系的研究生课程也基本都是MRes或者Mphil之类的研究式课程，如：MPhil in Economic and Social History，MPhil in Historical Studies，MPhil in Medieval History，MPhil in Political Thought and Intellectual History，MPhil in Early Modern History，MPhil in Modern European History，MLitt in History等。

目前该校的网上申请收费是25磅，邮寄申请暂不收费。因为申请人多竞争激烈，如果要申请这个学校，需要尽快邮寄申请材料了。

圣安德鲁斯大学

全英综合排名第6的大学。很多人认为这个学校是因为威廉王子亲驾而名气大增的，其实这个学校历来就是英国人心中除了Oxbridge之外最神圣的学校之一, 建于1413年。St Andrews University位于苏格兰东部的海边袖珍城市St Andrew。根据英国教育权威机构RAE和QAA的评定，不论是在传统的文学，历史学，社会学，数学，物理学，经济学还是在新兴的计算机，商科，心理学等领域，该校在科研和教学领域都分别达到5分和24分的满分，个别甚至科研水平达到5星级水平。因其古老的传统，文学，历史和社会学尤为著名。

历史专业的硕士课程有：M.Litt. and M.Phil. in Ancient History；M.Litt. and M.Phil. in Central and Eastern European Studies, Environmental History； M.Litt. in Historical Research；M.Litt.and M.Phil. in Medieval Hisotry； M.Litt.Middle Eastern History； M.Litt. in Modern Historiography； M.Litt. in Modern History； MLitt in Reformation Studies, Stottish History etc.

约克大学

英国综合排名前10的大学。在英国历史专业排名前10的大学中，York 大学的历史专业硕士课程是授课式课程最多全面的，尤其是中世纪历史方面的课程。如果想只拿到硕士学位就工作而不是想继续做研究的话，最好选择这个学校。

授课式的硕士课程有MA/MPhil History Research, MA Historical Research, MA History and Politics-Popular Movements, MA Local History, MA Medieval History, MA Medieval Studies, MA Modern History, MA Railway studies, MA Representations and Contexts(1750-1850) 等；

研究式的课程有研究方向有 Ancient History， Medieval History, Early Modern and Later Modern British History, Early Modern and Modern European History, American History, Latin American and Caribbean History 等。

伦敦大学学院

是英国伦敦大学下属的20多所学院中较为著名的学院之一, 位于伦敦市中心。英国综合排名前10，也是很多国际学生向往的学校。

MA in Ancient History, MA in Medieval Studies, MA in Modern History, MA in European History, MA in Dutch Golden Age etc. 都是非常不错的专业。

布里斯托大学

英国综合排名10位上下，历史专业排名前10的大学。位于威尔士，是风景优美的海滨城市。Bristol是一所实力很强的综合性大学，在文学，传媒，经管，IT等教学和科研领域都享有盛誉。

历史课程包含在Arts Faculty,主要的课程有 MA Ancient History and Historiography, MA Contemporary History, MA Medieval Studies 以及MA Medieval and Modern History等等。

格拉斯哥大学

格拉斯哥大学是英国在许多学科领域科研和教学实力很强的综合性大学，也是英国最古老6所大学（Oxbridge, St Andrews, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Glasgow）之一。Glasgow大学的历史系特色在于不仅专业全面，而且多偏重理科性质。

授课式的课程有M.Litt in History； M. Litt in History with an Emphasis on History of Medicine； MSc in History( Social Science)； M. Litt in Medieval Scottish Studies； M. 莱斯特大学

英国综合排名前20的大学，强项在生命科学，经社，商科，传媒和考古等。Leicester大学的考古专业曾被评为英国榜首。历史专业有MA History 和Mphil History，其中Mhpil专业的学生很多毕业后在本校读博（PhD History）。Leicester University位于英格兰中部独具英国特色的大学城Leicester，距离伦敦1个小时的车程左右，距离Loughborough仅半小时之隔。
